Meet with one of our qualified Registered Dietitians to help you improve your nutritional health and lifestyle. Our dietitians are prepared to help you with nutritional issues such as weight management, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, weight loss surgery, and much more. Call 740-439-8930 for an appointment. A physician’s order is required for your healthcare insurer to be billed. Not all plans cover nutritional counseling. Be sure to check with your provider.
Our diabetes team includes Registered Dietitians, a Certified Diabetes Educator and Registered Nurse. If you need help with your diabetes management, or you have a new diagnosis of diabetes, we can help! An individual appointment will be scheduled to review your needs and develop a plan for you. We offer free group classes to teach you about the basics of diabetes, nutrition for diabetes, complications of diabetes, and management of diabetes with exercise. You can even have the option of participating in our on site exercise program, a one-of-a-kind for the Guernsey County area. Call 740-439-8930 for an appointment. A physician’s order is not required for your appointment with a diabetes educator. The initial assessment and diabetes education classes are offered at no charge to the patient.
We utilize a MedGem indirect calorimeter, which is a handheld device to measure your caloric needs at rest. This is useful information when trying to manage your weight. There is a $50 fee due at the time of service for the test. You may schedule an appointment at 740-439-8941.
Whether you are trying to increase muscle mass or lose body fat, this test will show your percent of body fat. There is a fee due at time of service for the test. You may schedule an appointment at 740-439-8941.
The Wellness Resources department regularly plans wellness fairs throughout the community. Services offered generally include blood screenings, such as blood sugar, cholesterol, and thyroid. Other screenings often provided include bone density, body fat, vascular screenings by the Heart and Blood Flow Services department, and vision screenings by Occupational Therapy. Fees may be associated with some screenings. Most, if not all wellness fairs will be advertised in the local newspaper.
If your organization is in need of a speaker for a variety of health-related topics, please give us a call at 740-435-2946. Topics available include smoking cessation, nutrition (variety of topics), heart health, cancer prevention, stress management, internet safety, food safety, women’s’ health, medication management, and much more.
