Arterial Segmental Testing

What is arterial segmental testing?

This test is used to evaluate the circulation in your legs.

What does it involve?

Four blood pressure cuffs are placed on each leg at various locations. In addition, a blood pressure cuff is placed on each arm. These cuffs are inflated, one at a time, to record your blood pressure. These recordings enable your doctor to determine how good or bad your circulation is in your legs. Based on results of this test, more tests may be ordered to determine the exact location of any blocked arteries.

Are there any special preparations?

No, there is not any special preparations for segmental testing.  However, plan for the test to take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
