The Nuclear Medicine Department at Southeastern Med features two recently purchased Gamma Cameras. Both cameras are Marconi Axis Detector® systems along with a newly purchased Atomlab 950 Uptake Probe/Well Counter. The dual detectors allow for reduced time for many procedures.Board certified registered nuclear medicine technologist have received training to ensure that the equipment is used to the full potential and that the appropriate quality control procedures are followed. The Nuclear Medicine exams are supervised and interpreted by board certified radiologists. If you have any concerns about an upcoming nuclear medicine procedure, contact us at 740- 439-8023 . Brochures concerning many of the procedures performed in the Nuclear Medicine department are located in the waiting area at your physician’s office, these contain information as to what you can expect during your procedure. The Radiopharmaceuticals that will be used are acquisitioned for each patient. Therefore, if you find that you will not be able to keep your appointment please call as soon as possible to cancel the exam so that the isotopes can be cancelled as well.
