“Cancer treatment is hands-on medicine. It requires ongoing testing, monitoring and follow-up, so it’s essential that these services are available close by,” says Dr. Beed. “At Southeastern Med and the Cancer Center, patients can get all the treatments and tests they need without having to travel too far from home.”
Board-certified in oncology and internal medicine, Dr. Beed earned her Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago and completed her internship and residency at the University of Missouri in Columbia. She completed her Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at The Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus.
Throughout her 40-year career, Dr. Beed has contributed to several clinical and professional publications and delivered oncology lectures across the county on a variety of topics, including new treatments for lung cancer, new modalities in chemotherapy and the correlation between hormones and breast cancer.
In her free time, Dr. Beed enjoys spending time with her family and exploring geocaching trails.
