Dr. Mahayri earned his MD medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, School of Medicine. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Michigan State University and his Fellowship in multi-specialty of Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, Sleep Medicine at University of Nebraska Medical Center.
With Dr. Mahayri’s multi-specialty training and board certifications he serves in several capacities of medical supervision at Southeastern Med including Director of the Adult Intensive Care Unit, Director of Respiratory Services and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Dr. Mahayri is also the Founder and Director of the Southeastern Med Sleep Lab. He is also an Advanced Instructor and Director of Advanced Cardiac Life Support for the medical center, and from 2012 to 2016 he served as a member of the Southeastern Med Board of Directors and Chief of Medical Staff.
Dr. Mahayri also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at both Ohio State University and the Lake Erie College of Medicine.
Dr. Mahayri holds several board certifications including: Diplomate of the American Board of Pulmonary Disease, Diplomate of the American Board of Critical Care Medicine, Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Mahayri is an active member of multiple professional organizations. He currently is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (FAASM), a Fellow of the Physician Leadership Institute, and a member of the American Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Thoracic Society.
