Southeastern Med Introduces New Central Testing Location
Site will house curbside testing, Pre-Admission Testing, and Lab Draw
Cambridge, Ohio…Southeastern Med has announced that effective Friday, May 22, all testing will be completed at 1452 Clark Street. The location is just past the ER on the right as you are coming from Cambridge.
“Currently, surgical patients need to be tested for COVID-19 as well as the usual pre-admission testing,” said Kelli Warden, Southeastern Med Director of Surgical Services. “We wanted to make the pre-surgical process as easy as possible for our patients, so we thought of moving all testing to a single location.”
Initially, the new location was intended for curbside testing related to COVID-19. Testing was moved to the new site on May 11 after the tent in front of the Southeastern Med ER entrance was closed. “Ideas moved quickly after that,” said Babette Blackburn, Southeastern Med Laboratory Manager. “We thought that now would be a great opportunity to center all of our testing in a single location for greater convenience and agility, so we decided to move our Lab Draw station as well.”
The entire move has progressed rapidly as the number of patients requiring testing before certain imaging procedures and surgeries has increased.
“We want our community to know that we are invested in their safety as well as in our service to and support of them,” said Dominic Crock, Director of Cancer Services.
